ComposÃ© de trois palais de lâ€™Ã©poque ottomane et de maisons plus modestes de pÃªcheurs (dites douÃ©rates), il Ã©tait extrÃªmement dÃ©gradÃ© dans les annÃ©es 1980, mÃªme sâ€™il Ã©tait classÃ© monument historique depuis 1909 (le classement a Ã©tÃ© reconduit en 1967). Lâ€™ensemble actuel, qui abrite dÃ©sormais le centre des Arts et de la Culture, a Ã©tÃ© rÃ©habilitÃ© entre 1987 et 1994, chantier pendant lequel certaines parties totalement effondrÃ©es ont Ã©tÃ© intÃ©gralement remontÃ©es. En ce sens, il est reprÃ©sentatif des savoir-faire techniques contemporains dÃ©veloppÃ©s dans le cadre de la restauration du patrimoine.</text>
